Charlie
Charlie helps one of his outsider type students with her school work
and Kirsten tells Charlie that she would like them to adopt a child, which incites a happy reaction.
Julia
Julia is told by her book editor to search for answers as to why
she acted the way she did in her relationship with Ned, in the relationship that her parents had. In doing
this, Julia finds that her father had a short temper and her mother did not always take action against it.
The talk of this discovery angers Bailey, who feels that Julia is tarnishing their parents' memory. Feeling
lost and rejected by her family, Julia decides to move out and goes to the library. While at the library,
Julia is approached by one of her classmates (a girl named Isabel), who eventually befriends her and tells her
that her editor had a wife that committed suicide. Julia uses this information against the man the first
chance she gets, but apologizes almost immediately, after realizing that it was uncalled for. Julia goes
home, still fully intending to move out, but is convinced to stay for Bailey's sake by Sarah.
Claudia
Claudia's new friends (Alexa and her crew) find that they are being
bashed on the internet by an anonymous article writer. Using deductive skills, Claudia concludes that the
writer of the articles is Cameron (Alexa's boyfriend). Claudia confronts him on the basketball court and
tells him that she knows that he wrote the articles. She also tells him that it is ironic that he would criticize
his friends for doing anything possible to feel better about themselves, when writing the articles is his way of
doing the same thing. The next day at lunch, the group tells Claudia that they think she is responsible for
the articles. Claudia says that it wasn't her and gives Cameron an icy stare as she leaves the table. Later
on, a new article comes out, this time about, among others, Claudia. Alexa apologizes for accusing Claudia
and lets Claudia read the article. The second part of the article is about Cameron and it
highlights all the points that Claudia made earlier about him.
Daphne
Daphne is having an unsuccessful hunt for a job, when Charlie
suggests that Kirsten help her get a job at the doctors office that she works for. Kirsten is a little
apprehensive about it at first, but eventually does help. Daphne lies about her skills and is hired.
Kirsten teaches the things that she would need to know for the job. However, on Daphne's first
day, she decides to quit, telling Kirsten that the job does not fit the type of person she is. Kirsten responds
to this by saying to Daphne that adults often have to settle for jobs that they don't particularly like in order
to get the jobs that they want. Daphne decides to give the job another go.
The Good-bye
Sarah is advised by Julia to check through old yearbooks for information
about who her mother was. When she does this, she finds that her mother had a good friend named Mindy, that
stilled lived nearby. She called the woman and set up a time that they could meet and talk. Sarah and
Mindy meet and share a very My Girl 2 type scene. While she is talking to the woman, Sarah is told
that her mother played Roxanne in New York in the play Cyrano. She is shown an old playbill with a signing
on it saying that her (Sarah's biological mother's) life was going to change forever. Mindy also told Sarah
that her mother was seeing William Lanford the man who played Cyrano in the play. All of that was twenty years
ago. (Sarah is 20) Sarah performs an internet search for the man (because he may be her father)
and finds an address in NY. Upon finding the address she decides that a trip is in order
and tells Bailey. Bailey takes her plans badly, thinking that they are going on because of him.
Sarah tells him that she is going because she needs to feel nineteen. She also tells him that it's like
she lost her passport somewhere in NY and after she goes and gets it, she and Bailey can go anywhere.
Bailey's hostility subsides and the next day he takes her to the airport. Sarah asks him to come with her, but
he declines. She vows "5 days" and Bailey tells her to go find what she's looking
for and he'll be waiting for her . He then watches her disappear on the plane.
To find out what happens with Sarah in NY watch Time of Your Life, Mondays on FOX.
