"Haunted" May 12, 1999
Daphne came back to town after her mother's death, and wanted
to be part of Diana's life. Kirsten isn't happy to see Daphne, and worried about Charlie getting back with her.
Sarah left to do an essay, and managed to lose her laptop, which Bailey later found.. Julia went on a date with
Josh. Bailey looked at rings. Claudia continued to see Cody, and changed her hair color.
"I'll Show You Mine" May 5, 1999
Sarah is involved in a campaign against sweatshops, and attended a sit-in. Bailey had a party to promote business.
Cody moved a little fast with Claudia, causing her to make excuses to avoid being alone together. Claudia finally
confessed her fears to Cody. Kirsten was offered a job in Chicago, but didn't take it. Charlie had a check-up,
and he's in perfect health. Julia's essay may be published. She thanked her professor, Perry Marks, and they kissed.
Julia is confused over her feelings for Perry.
"Fragile" April 28, 1999
Bailey and Sarah move back to the Salinger house, and Bailey starts renovating the attic. Charlie decides to move
out, and Kirsten suggests that he stay with her. Sarah takes Claudia to the gynecologist's, and is given condoms
and information on sex. Bailey and Lauren work out an agreement to keep their distance from each other, but it
doesn't work, and Lauren tells Bailey she's quitting. Claudia went to a club where REM made an appearance. Claudia
hooked back up with Cody at the concert. Julia wrote a story about her relationship with Ned, and her writing teacher
(Perry Marks) was critical of it. The two spent a day together, and then Perry distanced herself from Julia. Perry
told Julia she was gay.. (I think, I missed a few minutes due to a channel flipping frenzy by my husband)
"Get Back" April 21, 1999
Julia and Griffin spent some time together, but he decides he
doesn't want to get back together, and Julia is crushed. Claudia tells Ross that she's in love with Griffin, although
she knows it's hopeless. Owen is still having some problems in school. Sarah suggests to Bailey that they should
move into the Salinger house so Owen can live with all of his
family. They end up moving, and then Sarah is unhappy with the living arrangements. Charlie and Kirsten reunite.
Bailey kissed Lauren.
"The Wish" April 14, 1999
A blackout plagues the city, leaving the characters in interesting situations.
Julia and Griffin are stuck in the elevator together, which leads to some kissing, and some revelations. Claudia
has her 16th
birthday party, and all of her family members are there. Sarah talks to Claudia about boys, relationships, and
sex. Bailey and Lauren reach an
understanding over how to run the restaurant. Paul tells Charlie that he should be with Kirsten.
"Judgement Day" March 17, 1999
Bailey and Charlie continued to fight over Owen and had the matter settled out of court. Owen stayed with Charlie.
Charlie and Owen had a talk, and Owen decided he'd rather live with Bailey. Kirsten and Griffin gave Charlie back
their keys to the house, and went apartment hunting. Ned stalked Julia. Julia confessed to everyone that Ned was
beating her, including the police and his parents.
"Driven to Extremes" March 10, 1999
Griffin kidnapped Julia so he could try to talk some sense into
her. Bailey is still continuing with his case to get Owen back. Charlie took Owen to the park to teach him how
to ride a bike, but Owen ended up
crashing the bike, and breaking his arm. Owen is really struggling at school. Julia finally left Ned.
"Fam-i-ly" March 3, 1999
Maggie tells Charlie and Claudia that Ned used to hit her , and
warns them that Julia is in danger. Bailey and Charlie confront Julia about Ned, but she tells them to stay out
of her business. Sarah helps her mother with wedding plans, and gets to know her mother's fiancée’s family.
Bailey persists in his quest to adopt Owen.
"Party of Freud"- February 17, 1999
Daphne agrees to come back home, but chickens out at the last minute. Owen may have a learning disability. Julia
and Ned go to counseling.
"Whatever Works" February 10, 1999
Ned is badly beaten by Griffin after an argument between the
two men. Charlie goes to LA to find Daphne. Bailey finds being a father figure is rewarding. Kirsten moves ahead
with her divorce. Claudia's romance goes sour when she learns that the gift he gave her was stolen.
"Stand By Me"- February 3, 1999
Griffin asks Justin for help because he's concerned for Julia.
Charlie reads the file on Daphne and thinks he can convince her to come home. Claudia falls for a band member,
and they kiss. Bailey's apartment building has a robbery after Sarah lets Albert into their apartment.
"Fillmore Street"- January 27, 1999
Ned hits Julia, but she forgives him when he says he won't do
it again. Griffin is worried about Julia, and visits her at school. Julia lies to Griffin, but he's still suspicious.
Charlie is oblivious to other women who find him very attractive now that he's a single father. Charlie isn't ready
to get involved with anyone though. Sarah is afraid to testify against her attacker. Kirsten learns that a baby
is available right away, and that they can adopt it. Paul backs off at the last minute, which crushes Kirsten.
Julia files for divorce. Sarah decides to befriend her attacker, Albert.
"Witness for the Persecution" January
20, 1999
Salinger's is robbed, and Sarah and Bailey find themselves face
to face with the robber. Julia tries to avoid Ned, and his violent mood swings. Griffin asks Claudia to join his
band, which causes problems with the other band members. Paul tells Kirsten he wants to adopt a baby, and Kirsten
is thrilled.
"Rings on Saturn" January 13. 1999
Charlie has a feeling that Daphne is going to leave when she
starts planning ahead for Diana's future. Kirsten does some volunteer work at the hospital, and really wants gets
upset that she can't have a baby. Bailey takes Owen on a camping trip, but things don't go so well. Julia tries
to gain Maggie's friendship back after hurting her. Ned asks Julia to move in with him, and hits her when she says
no.
"One Christmas To Go" December 16,
1998
Daphne's mother arrives in town, and has no interest in the baby.
Daphne fears that she inherited her mother's mothering skills. Ned tricks Julia into helping him with a term paper,
to keep her from seeing her family. Bailey takes on the task of disciplining Owen. Claudia is determined to get
the whole family together for Christmas.
"Gifts"- December 9, 1998
Bailey receives an extremely large tax refund from the restaurant.
Julia wants to get to know Ned's brother. Griffin visits a lonely Claudia at school, and she ends up coming home
with him.
"Love and War"- December 2, 1998
Claudia is homesick, and tries to get herself kicked out of school
to come home. Bailey struggles to stifle the restaurant competition in his neighborhood. Julia learns that Ned
has been lying to her. Charlie has a hard time managing the household with the arrival of the new baby. Charlie
tries to make more time to spend with Owen.
"Tender Age"- November 18, 1998
It's Thanksgiving, and Owen takes off in the mall, and everyone
looks for him. Daphne tries to prevent a worried Claudia from finding out that Owen is missing.
"Forgive and Forget"- November 11,
1998
This is the 100th episode
Daphne struggles to bond with the baby. Owen is also having problems adjusting to the new baby. Julia has to deal
with the fact that she stole her roommate's boyfriend. Julia sleeps with Ned. Bailey and Sarah's views on motherhood
clash.
"The Baby" - November 4, 1998
Daphne goes into early labor, her condition is critical. Charlie must make a decision which life to save. He makes
the decision, and Daphne has a c-section which saves both her life, and the baby's. Bailey and Sarah learn that
Will's girlfriend is pregnant, so they take her in. Maggie catches Julia and Ned together. Bailey gives Hannah
money for an abortion, which doesn't sit well with Sarah. Julia brings Ned home to meet the family, and an awkward
meeting occurs when Griffin and Ned meet.
"A Mid-Semester's Night Dream"- October
28, 1998
Daphne is ordered to strict bed rest, but fails to follow doctor's orders. Daphne and Charlie grow closer when
he learns how scared she is. Claudia's boyfriend Jamie thinks she's cheating on him, and she really doesn't want
her friends to know about him. Bailey's friend Will comes back to town. Ned pursues Julia, and she gives into her
feelings for him and they share a passionate moment on Halloween.
"Family Album" October 14, 1998
This show features the cast members as they review past episodes.
It also showed behind the scenes footage, and some of the stars first acting spots.
"Naming Names" September 30, 1998
Charlie wants to name the baby after his mother, Diana, but Daphne
won't decide on a name. After a run-in with her mother, Sarah decides to look up her birth mother, only to find
out she was killed in a plane crash. Claudia makes a dorm escape in order to win some friends. Julia agrees to
go out with Josh. Julia ends up kissing her roommate's boyfriend, Ned. Griffin moves back into the shed.
"Separation Anxiety" September 23,1998
Charlie talks to a lawyer about obtaining custody of his unborn child but is counseled to get a job first. Charlie
then lands a job at a school teaching shop class. Daphne decides her old life doesn't work for her, and returns
to the Salinger house. Sarah fears that her mother is having an affair. Claudia learns that she won't be popular
by being the smartest kid in class.
"Moving On" September 16, 1998
Daphne feels smothered by Charlie, and returns to her old lifestyle.
Claudia goes off to boarding school in Massachusetts. Julia returns to Stanford College. |
