BACKGROUND Party of Five is a show about how a family deals with the tragic loss of their parents. The show deals with realistic issues, and the struggles the members go through to grow up, and also keep the family intact. The show still manages to integrate laughter into the serious issues, and is definitely a show to watch. Charlie is the oldest Salinger, and is now responsible for his younger siblings. Throughout this show, Charlie has almost been married, had Hodgkin's disease, and just recently had a baby girl named Diana.(after Charlie's mother) Charlie started out working at the restaurant, but is now a shop teacher. Bailey is by far the most responsible member of this family, but has also had his problems. He suffered with alcoholism in the 3rd season. He is now living with his girlfriend Sarah, and is running the family restaurant, Salinger’s. He is taking care of Owen, and would like to get custody of him. Julia is the oldest daughter, and has always been a good student. She decided not to go to college after high school, but after her marriage to Griffin broke up, she decided to enroll at Stanford College. She has suffered with her own problems, such as peer pressure, and a miscarriage in high school. Julia is now seeing her college roommate's old boyfriend, Ned, and he is physically abusing her. Claudia is the youngest daughter, She has had a hard time dealing with loss of her parents. Claudia inherited her mother's musical ability, and is an excellent violin player. She decided to attend a boarding school, but found herself missing the family too much, and came home. She is great with her little brother and sister. Recently she joined Griffin's band. Owen is the youngest of the five siblings. He was only a year old when his parents were killed, so Charlie is really the only father he knows. He isn't dealing too well with the arrival of his niece, Diana. It was just found out that he may have a learning disability. He likes to stay at Bailey's house, because he receives some much needed attention there. Sarah Reeves is Bailey's girlfriend. They have been on-again, off-again, for years. They just recently slept together for the first time, and are now living together. Kirsten Bennett is a friend of the family, and also Charlie's ex-fiancée. She would love to have a baby, but isn't able to. Her marriage recently broke up, and she moved into the Salinger house. She realized she has feelings for Charlie, and went to Chicago to stay with her parents for awhile. Griffin Holbrook is Julia's soon to be ex-husband. He is a good guy, but is misunderstood, and is protective of Julia. He didn't have a good relationship with his family, so he likes being in the Salinger house. He lives in the shed of the Salinger house, and is a good friend to Claudia. Daphne is the mother of Diana, and Charlie's ex-girlfriend. Daphne was doing some questionable jobs when she met Charlie.
