Buffy Summers
Buffy was born in 1981 to Hank and Joyce Summers (now divorced).
Buffy was attending High School in Los Angeles, in the fall of 1995. It was there that she first learned of her
destiny as the slayer by the watcher; Merrick, who was later killed. Her mother decided to move to Sunnydale after
the divorce and Buffy’s expulsion from school. Buffy had hoped to leave her past behind her, but her new watcher,
Rupert Giles, was determined to bring Buffy back to her fate as the Slayer. Buffy and her friends Willow, Xander,
Giles, Cordelia (and sometimes Angel, her vampire boyfriend) have fought and beaten the most demonic forces in
the universe, tangled with Hell and saved the world at least once. Buffy possesses strength and quickness along
with a strong will to live freely and play out her roles as a "normal" teenager.

Alexander LeVelle Harris
Xander has lived in Sunnydale all his life, as has his best friend,
Willow. He learned Buffy's secret when he overheard her and Giles speaking about it on the series premiere. Xander,
who loves for Buffy, always gives his all when fighting alongside his friends. He was once the boyfriend of the
previously hated Cordelia Chase. Xander always has a good line to say, or he always spices up bad moments with
witty comebacks or movements. Although not unintelligent (he refers to himself as the "king of cretins"),
Xander has never excelled academically. Willow tutors him in many subjects, notably math. He is loyal to Buffy,
but sometimes weary and questions the aura of Angel. When Buffy chose Angel over himself (romantically), Xander
became jealous, but has forgiven her.

Willow Rosenberg
Willow is a shy, very intelligent, and determined girl . She
has become Buffy’s best friend and is always the first to forgive. She is also close to Xander, and has had a crush
on him for years, though, for now, she is with Oz. Willow has made a great contribution to the cause of demon fighting
through her quick mind and her ability to find information on the Net. She is now practicing magic and spells,
trying to fill the place of the late Jenny Calendar. She performed the ritual to restore Angel's soul, and helps
the gang defeat the undead, demons, and the evil forces of darkness.

Oz
Oz tends to take things in stride. He was very nonchalant when he found out that Buffy was a vampire slayer and
that there actually are vampires. He is currently repeating his senior year at Sunnydale High because of too many
missed classes, but he is very smart. He is the lead guitarist for the rock band Dingoes Ate My Baby, which plays
regularly all over the Sunnydale area. Midway through his (first) senior year, Oz was bitten by his cousin Jordy,
who is a werewolf. The bite transmitted the lycanthropy to Oz, and he now changes into a werewolf on the night
of the full moon. He found himself attracted to Willow from the moment he saw her in an Eskimo outfit. They didn't
actually speak until they found themselves together on Career Day, but they started dating soon after. His lycanthropy
has not really changed their relationship.

Cordelia
Cordelia is attractive, snobbish, completely self-centered, fashion
conscious, and the head cheerleader. She is opinionated and outspoken. Except for Angel, she has dated every good
looking guy in Sunnydale, including Xander, whom she once hated and despised. Cordelia initially made friends with
Buffy, but broke it off when Buffy became friends with Willow and Xander. She used to shun those "losers",
but changed her mind after Buffy and the gang saved her life time after time. She has proven to be an asset to
the gang by using her looks and personality to get into places such as the military base and the hospital file
rooms. She is now friends with all the Slayerettes and is a proud member of the "secret group".

Giles
Rupert Giles is from a family of watchers. His father and grandmother
were watchers, and he was told at age ten that he too would become one. He attended Oxford University, but eventually
dropped out, choosing instead to dabble in the occult. Giles has great knowledge of almost every demon and evil
being, and his skills in spell-making have often been useful. He was the curator at a museum in England prior to
being assigned by the Watchers to guide Buffy. He is presently the school librarian for Sunnydale High. He is always
watching out for Buffy and her friends. He was recently fired by the Watchers Council for becoming too close to
Buffy.

 Angel
Angel (or Angelus, the one with the angelic face) is a 240-plus year-old vampire. A gypsy curse restored his human
soul, but left the demon inside him. Once the most savage vampire the Master had ever known, he no longer killed
humans, but still required blood. He and Buffy fell in love. The curse was broken when Buffy gave him a moment
of true contentment/happiness (they made love) since the point of the curse was to torture him continuously, and
Angelus, a vampire with no conscience or humanity, returned. For the latter half of the second season, Angelus
terrorized Sunnydale generally, and Buffy specifically. His most heinous action was his murder of Jenny Calendar.
Buffy was unable to do anything about Angelus, because of her feelings for Angel, but in the end she was able to
skewer him with a sword to stop the demon Acathla, which had the side effect of sending Angel to Hell. The only
problem with this was that at that moment, Willow, who now is also sort of a good witch she dabbles in spells and
such, was able to recast the curse and give Angel his soul back. Buffy realized this as she sent him to Hell. Buffy
then left Sunnydale (for the summer basically during reruns :) It was a lot for her to deal with. They had a couple
of episodes where she was gone and showed her working as a waitress and killing demons and stuff where she was
and then they'd show everyone worrying about her and looking for her in Sunnydale.
Angel is not dead, he was returned to Sunnydale and we don't really know why exactly. Buffy found him and has helped
him get stronger. When the others found, out they were angry, knowing that he had killed Jenny Calendar. Buffy
told them Willow's spell worked at the last minute but she still had to kill him to save the world and then they
lightened up on her a little.
