I’ll Never Love Again
by Sparkle_eyez

Chapter 5

Gwen was sitting at the country club enjoying a short lunch with a few of her old sorority sisters. Although it wasn’t as enjoyable as Gwen had hoped. Maybe it was because Theresa and Ethan were enjoying lunch two tables over from Gwen and the girls. Or maybe it was the fact that her sorority sisters wouldn’t stop talking about Ethan and Theresa.

Or maybe it was that Gwen hadn’t heard from Hank in 3 days.

Ever since their sailing date she hasn’t been able to think about anything else but him. She reread that note he wrote her at least twice day.

That conversation that her and her mother still played out in her head. “I really like Hank a lot and I won’t let my mother or anyone else spoil it for me!” Gwen thought to herself.

Gwen excused herself from the lunch making up a lie about some business meeting.

She left the club and walked out to her black Mercedes Benz. As she got closer, she noticed something lying on the car. She got to her car and saw that it was a long stemmed pink rose. Curiously she picked up the rose and inhaled it’s fresh scent. Their was a small card pinned to the stem:

Something to make you smile beautiful.

Knowing what she wanted to do Gwen hopped in her car and drove off.

Hank sat in his new office at the FBI offices that were newly based in Harmony.

“I’m really proud of you buddy.” exclaimed Luis.

“And why is that? You’re usually the one getting all the appraisal!” joked Hank.

“Well, you’re finally establishing yourself in something that you’re really good and professionally. I’d never realized it.”

“I do my best , but keep praising me I love it!” Hank boasted.

“Congratulations.” a female voice chimed in.

Hank froze and looked up to see Gwen standing in the door way with a bottle of champagne and two glasses.

“I should probably be going I promised Sheridan I wouldn’t be long.” Luis said taking the hint and patting Hank on the shoulder.

“See ya..” Hank said not taking his eyes off of her.

“Thank you for the rose...” Gwen said walking into the room.

“Thank you for the champagne.” Hank stepped forward.

“Thanks for tucking me in.”

“Thanks for the sailing trip!”

“Enough ‘thank you’ Gwen said as she placed the champagne down on the desk.

She placed her hands around his neck and looked straight into his eyes with so much intensity. He returned the intense look knowing what he wanted to do. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close.

“What is happening between us?” Hank whispered softly.

“I don’t know it doesn’t make any sense!” She leaned her forehead to his, “but I trust it.”

Finally, their lips touched igniting something that as been yearning to happen for some time.

As their kiss grew deeper and more passionate the intensity of the moment grew stronger. Hands began to wonder and kisses were so deep and intense.

Hanks hand wondered up the back of her shirt. As Gwen placed her hands on his chest. Their desire continued to grow with each kiss until......

“Stop I can’t do this!”
