Note: In this story, the buried alive story line with Sheridan never took place. The drug cartel was caught before they could kill her because Hank confessed. Sheridan decides to leave Harmony after Luis is no longer her bodyguard and comes back after three years with some changes in her life. Enjoy!

Chapter 1
The wind roared across the wharf, kicking up sprays of cold, salty water and sending loose debris flying. Along with the soupy fog, the blustery weather kept the wharf deserted. Deserted, except for one tall, solitary figure leaning against the railing, oblivious to all that was going on her. Her short blond hair was being tousled around by the wind, along with her gray coat, which was now flapping wildly. A lone tear slipped from her crystal blue eyes and down her cheek, mingling with the choppy waters below. She was back. After three long years, Sheridan Crane was back in Harmony.

"Brring! Brring!" the telephone rang. A tall, dark, muscular man looked up from what he was doing. He sighed and ran his hands through his spiky black hair before answering the phone.

"This is Harmony PD Detective Lopez-Fitzgerald speaking." His almond brown eyes lit up at the sound of his mother's voice. "Sure Mama," Luis answered. "Of course I'll bring Beth. You know how much she loves your cooking. I love you too. Bye." Luis's smile vanished as quickly as it had appeared. Of course he'd bring Beth. That's what he was supposed to do, right? Even so, he wished he didn't have to just this once. He wanted to spend time with his family. Luis sighed again, then picked up the phone to invite his fiancée over to his family's house for dinner.

Ethan Crane was lounging comfortably on the leather sofa, engrossed in a thick portfolio. His pale blue eyes scanned page after page as a light breeze from a humming fan ruffled his sandy brown hair. There was a light rapping at the door. Thinking his wife might have forgotten something, Ethan bounded off the couch and swung the door open. "What did you forget now, There-" He gasped. "Sh- Sheridan?"
