Ethan’s entire body melted into bliss.
His lips relaxed against hers, and he parted them ever so slightly. Theresa was returning the kiss, but then suddenly,
she pulled away. Ethan opened his eyes ( he had closed them?) and blinked at her, confused. Why did she pull away?
That was magic. I never knew kissing
someone could feel like that.
"Ethan, I am so sorry!" Theresa
exclaimed, still stunned from the kiss. She was waiting for someone to snap her out of her dream. After all, she
had dreamed of this moment everyday for the past few years. And then it hit her.
After years and years of waiting, it had happened. Ethan Crane had kissed her! And it was every bit as wonderful
as she had imagined.
"Don’t be sorry, Theresa. It was just a mistake. It’ll never happen again."
Ethan searched her eyes, and was surprised by the intensity he saw in them
"Right…it’ll never happen again."
Across the room, Sheridan snorted. They looked at her, then turned away in embarrassment.
"Uh, well, we’d better go now. See you later, Sheridan."
"Bye, Sheridan," Theresa echoed, her face still burning.
"Later you two."
Sheridan just smirked. That was the hottest kiss she had ever been witness to.
Sorry, Gwen. It appears that Ethan’s
heart belongs to someone else now.
The air was filled with tension as they
walked outside. Neither one could find the words to fill the silence. Then, their eyes met.
They both laughed. The tension was broken.
"Are we taking your car, Ethan?" Theresa asked as they came to a stop at the front porch. Just then,
a limo pulled up the drive
"Tonight, you are going to be chauffeured around in style."
"Sounds good to me!"
The driver of the limo opened the door for them, and they slid in.
After getting settled, Theresa turned to Ethan and asked, "Ethan, where are we going?"
"You aren’t going to give up, are you?"
Theresa just shook her head.
"Well…one little clue. There are lots of lights where we are going."
"Oh, that was a great help."
"And that’s the only clue you are getting, so stop nagging!"
Theresa stuck out her lip and began to pout.
"Oh, Theresa, you know I lov-LIKE you."
Theresa smiled. Ethan shifted towards the mini fridge next to him and pulled out a bottle of wine. He grabbed two
glasses from the bar and handed one to Theresa.
"You like wine, don’t you Theresa?" he asked as he uncorked the bottle.
"I love it."
Ethan poured some into both of their glasses and then leaned back on the plush seat.
"Ethan, thank you again for this necklace. It’s exquisite!"
"Well, don’t get your hopes up too high, Theresa- it’s just on loan from Tiffany’s."
Theresa’s eyes widened.
"THE Tiffany’s? As in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’? As in the best place in the world that I’ve never gotten to
see Tiffany’s?" she squealed, her face breaking into that delirious grin she sometimes got.
Ethan loved her enthusiasm. It was contagious.
"Yes, I was referring to that Tiffany’s."
"Ok, just checking."
They sat in comfortable silence, sipping their wine for a few minutes until the limo came to a stop. Ethan took
the glass from Theresa and they got out of the limo. They were at the local airfield.
"We’re leaving Harmony? In your family’s jet?"
"Yes ma’am. You had better be prepared- I have a night of excitement planned for us!"
How can the night get anymore exciting
after that kiss we shared?
She was about to find out.
An hour later, the plane was making its’ descent. Theresa looked out the window. Below them, New York City glittered,
seeming to welcome them in.
I’ve died and gone straight to Heaven!
"Ethan, I can’t believe it! I’ve always
wanted to go to New York- and now I’m here! All thanks to you. This has been the most wonderful day of my life!"
Theresa was absolutely giddy. It was a combination of things- the wine, all of the surprises, Ethan…
Ethan smiled at her, aching to pull her into his arms for a hug.
But you might never let go of her.
"I’m glad. I hope the rest of the
evening lives up to your expectations."
"Oh, Ethan. Whatever you have planned will be just perfect. I know it."
"I hope so, Theresa. I hope you know that I would do anything for you."
"I know you would, Ethan. You’ve shown me that on countless occasions. And you know I would do the same for
Ethan just nodded and looked out the window.
"Isn’t beautiful? "
"It is. When I was little, I always envisioned New York as this magical place. I know it’s silly, but I still
"That’s not silly, Theresa. Anything can be magical if you want it to be. Your heart just has to be in it."
Theresa looked away from him and smiled.
Tonight was going to be magical. She could feel it.
