I spend way too much time at the theaters.
I'm a slave to the Hollywood Visionaries.  God help me.

Written by Marc Lawrence,
based on the screenplay by Neil Simon

Starring Steve Martin, Goldie Hawn,
John Cleese, Ernie Sabella, Mark McKinney

My Advice: Steve and Goldie still rock! :)

Rating: Rating:  out of

I love Steve Martin. I adore Goldie Hawn. John Cleese is the best at what he does. What is not to like about this movie?

Steve and Goldie are just that.  Golden.  You put these two together -- remember The Housesitter? - and the hilarity commences.

Henry Clark (Martin) and his wife Nancy (Hawn) are having a bit of a tough time. Henry has lost his job, Nancy has just watched her last child pack up and head off for college, and their life just doesn't have the zing it once use to.

With nothing to tie them down any longer, off they head for New York City where Henry has an interview for a promising advertising position. Along the way they fall victim to one hilarious catastrophe after another and it just keeps on rolling.

Granted this movie feels slow at times, but with Martin and Hawn at the helm it really doesn't matter. She is still adorably fresh and he is at his physical comedy best. This movie was well cast, well acted and well received in my home. Though farfetched and illogical in it's premise, you are laughing so often that you'll let this disappointment slide. From the captured rendezvous on the green to the catapult from the hotel marquee, you'll thuroughly enjoy the amusement of this venture.

Keep in mind that this is as far fetched as it can get but it doesn't matter.  In fact, I think we would all do well in getting out of town like this.  And getting out often.
