To ease some of the stress:

· Clear your refrigerator in advance to make room for all of your Thanksgiving food.

· Set the table and prepare as many dishes as possible the day before.

· Organize activities for children far away from the kitchen and dining room.

· To avoid water marks on your best wine glasses, wash with Brillo and dry upside down on paper towels.
Stick with dishes you know how to make. This is not the time to experiment.

· Look for recipes that can be prepared in advance.

· Limit the number of side dishes you serve.

· Use disposable roasting pans or line your casserole pans with foil.

· Have enough storage containers and matching lids for leftovers.

· Keep the hors d'oeuvres light so your guests will still be hungry for the dinner.

· Prepare all ingredients that go into multiple recipes at the same time.

· Bake just one kind of pie. (Pumpkin is less time-consuming than apple.)

· Be sure there is food for children with picky tastes.
