A more likely cause is an incursion of “malware” – a virus or worm or spyware or adware or any number of things that can, at best, rob you of your computer’s performance or worse things. Much worse. Always make sure that your operating system is up to date and that your anti-virus and anti-spyware programs are both up-to-date and turned on and working.
