With Ally getting an early start on the Christmas spirit, Larry tries to avoid talking about why the holidays make him so sad.

Meanwhile, a little lie from John to Kimmy (guest star Jami Gertz) could have embarrassing repercussions for him.

Also, Marlo Thomas guest stars as Kimmy's mother, plus Macy Gray sings "Winter Wonderland" (a 1998 recording never before released commercially) and Calista Flockhart and Robert Downey Jr. sing a moving rendition of "White Christmas".
